Anna Willder in Wataha Team - knowledge and support for the Polish community

Life in Norway can bring security, new opportunities and satisfaction. It can also mean loneliness, work pressure, language difficulties and distance from loved ones. Sometimes behind the sentence "everything is fine" there is a fatigue that is hard for someone to talk about.

We want to create a space for conversation about these experiences. That is why Anna Willder, our expert psychologist, is joining Wataha Team, running the practice Psykohjelp in Norway.

Together with Radio Wataha and Twoja Norwegia we will prepare conversations and articles concerning mental health, relationships and the everyday challenges of the Polish community. We care about knowledge that can be understood and applied to one’s own life - and about showing how to take the first step toward getting help.

Who is Anna Willder?

Anna is a psychologist with experience in health care, assistance to children and adolescents, and work with families. In her practice she emphasizes empathy, confidentiality and an individual approach.

As she describes on the Psykohjelp website, she gained clinical experience among others at a day psychiatric and rehabilitation ward, an anxiety disorders ward and day units in hematology, oncology and gastroenterology.

She also worked in psychological-pedagogical counseling PPT, an addiction treatment center and child and adolescent psychiatry BUP. She has experience supporting people with chronic and cancer illnesses, dementia and post-stroke conditions.

This diversity of experiences brings a broad perspective on the person to our conversations - their health, family situation and everyday burdens.

Support for children, parents and families

An important part of Anna’s work is supporting children and their caregivers. She has collaborated with kindergartens, conducted observation and diagnostics of children at risk of autism spectrum disorders and psychological-pedagogical work.

She also has experience collaborating with barneverntjenesten and the office dealing with foster families. She has conducted trainings, workshops and lectures for parents raising children with disabilities and autism, classes for young mothers and women, and parenting counseling.

In our materials we also want to talk about children’s needs, family communication and situations in which parents themselves need support.

How does our expert work?

Anna offers individual, couples and family therapy. She uses elements of integrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, schema therapy and motivational interviewing. She emphasizes the importance of mindfulness, empathy and understanding the experiences of the other person.

She has developed her skills in the areas of autism diagnostics, personality disorders, assessment of cognitive functions, intelligence testing, trauma work, body work and choreotherapy. She continues her development through courses, trainings and symposia, among others concerning ADOS-2, ADI-R, ADHD and SCID-5.

What will we talk about?

Our cooperation will respond to problems and questions that appear in the community. Among the planned topics are:

  • stress and occupational burnout - when engagement begins to cost too much;

  • loneliness while emigrating - how to seek contact and build bonds;

  • language barrier and pressure at work - how to talk about needs and set boundaries;

  • partner and family relationships - communication, conflicts and mutual support;

  • separations and divorces - adults' emotions and children's needs;

  • parenting - how to support the child and notice one's own overload;

  • seeking help - from the first conversation to the appropriate form of support.

The articles will be prepared by Steve Joobs based on conversations and materials provided by Anna. The psychological content will be checked and approved by her before publication.

First topic: “Can't a Pole be ill?”

We will start the series with a conversation about occupational burnout, pressure and boundaries at work in Norway.

We want to look at the experience of a worker who constantly takes on new responsibilities because they fear losing their job or cannot freely explain their situation. When they start to fall ill or need to stay with a child, they may feel guilt and fear that they will no longer be valued.

“Can't a Pole be ill?” is a question about such experiences, not an assessment of all employers. We'll talk about recognizing overload, seeking support and preparing to discuss your needs. Information regarding employee rights will be based on Norwegian official sources.

Consultations with Anna - how to schedule an appointment?

Aside from educational cooperation with Wataha Team Anna runs her own psychological practice. The scope of her help includes, among others, stress, exhaustion, occupational burnout, depression, anxiety disorders, life crises and difficulties in relationships.

She also offers support for children and adolescents, couples and family therapy and psychological assessment.

Online consultations take place via Whereby. The link to the meeting is sent by email. The appointment can be chosen in the Psykohjelp booking calendar.

You can start with a conversation

You don't have to be able to precisely name the problem to ask for help. We want our materials to make that first step easier and to show that mental health deserves attention even when everyday life requires us to keep functioning continuously.

We welcome Anna to Wataha Team and invite you to follow our conversations and articles.

Educational materials do not replace individual consultation. In the event of an immediate threat to life or health, call 113.
