    seksjonsleder

Lillestrøm municipality is constantly developing. In the municipal area Housing and environmental services we emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation and seamless services. Our employees shall support each other and service recipients across municipal areas, departments and sections when it is appropriate. With the values trust, inclusion and innovation we have high ambitions to be the best in our field in Norway. We have a large and broad professional environment, and offer courses and competence development across our sections.
Our work is anchored in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and in the guide "Gode helse- og omsorgstjenester til personer med utviklingshemming".
Asak respite centre is one of four sections under the respite service in Lillestrøm municipality. We are located at Asak on Leirsund. The respite service provides respite stays to people with various disabilities. The service is primarily to relieve relatives with particularly burdensome care work at home. Respite is carried out according to individual decisions, with scope from a few hours a week to more comprehensive arrangements. Respite is provided in an institution, in addition to respite in the home, private respite and purchased services.

Our work is based on principles of targeted environmental work, and professional administrative systems have been developed to ensure access to information and flow of information. All employees receive training in both direct service delivery and professional work. We work with competence development, among other things through internal teaching, training and collegial supervision. In the respite service you will, together with the rest of the staff group, work closely with children, young people and their families. Those who are in respite have very different interests, resources, levels of functioning and diagnoses. What they have in common is the need for assistance to cope with their lives. The assistance can be supervision, activation, facilitation or various forms of practical help. Some need you to be skilled in handling challenging behaviour and to cope with being tested, while with others you must be good at somatic challenges – and be able to see the person behind the medical. Everyone has individual needs, and our job is to facilitate the respite stay so that those who are here have good days, and that the families are confident that we take good care of their children. The tasks are varied, the days often have a high pace and require a great deal of flexibility.

We at Asak respite centre are now looking for more employees in permanent weekend positions. The position size varies from 10% to 43%. Do you have a burning commitment for people who need that little extra, and want to challenge yourself professionally? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for.
