We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment to children, young people and their families!
The position is new in its content and part of our focus on quality development and efficiency where new available solutions and citizen services will be implemented. The position will have a professional range of tasks, and you will have the opportunity to help shape the new child welfare service for Ringerike and Jevnaker.
The child welfare service for Ringerike and Jevnaker is located in attractive premises in the Family House in Hønefoss centre together with other service areas. We are also present at a branch office in Jevnaker municipality, in a community with pleasant premises at the Community House. Ringerike kommune is the host municipality for the new child welfare service, and your employer will be Ringerike kommune. We are about 50 employees, and are organized into the reception/investigation department, support measures, resource team and care. The child welfare service has youth contacts who work outreach and preventive, we are involved in more exciting projects and we are the host municipality for an inter-municipal child welfare on-call service. In the child welfare service we are concerned with user involvement, "the right help at the right time", as well as prevention and interdisciplinary cooperation in both municipalities. We are in an exciting time where we see the effects of the child welfare/childhood reform and the new Child Welfare Act from 2026 which will involve a further quality boost. We have come a long way in developing the services the child welfare service offers in cooperation with relevant agencies in the Family House in both municipalities. The service has a number of measures to assist children and families, including evidence-based measures and tailoring adapted to the individual family or foster family.
We are seeking a professionally strong, experienced and forward-thinking senior adviser who wants to work in a broad and exciting field within municipal child welfare. The position reports to the unit manager and is part of the service's management team for the professional area. Work tasks
- ensure high quality in the child welfare professional work
- ensure continuous improvement in the service, ensure good administrative practice and that statutory requirements are followed
- provide guidance and training of employees regarding internal control, quality and professional systems
- are superuser in the service's professional systems and incorporate new functionality into the professional systems
- are responsible for following up the National Child Welfare Register and prepare statistics
- are responsible for following up tools and surveys for user involvement
- handle and quality assure document access, complaint handling and compensation cases
- facilitate competence enhancement and training of employees within the professional area
- are responsible for preparing responses to consultation statements and contribute to planning documents/political cases
- are responsible for implementing the national pathway for child welfare and coordinate the work
- contribute to follow-up of cooperation agreements and systemic cooperation in the municipalities
- contribute to service development in terms of quality, innovation, professional competence and internal control together with the service's management team
- contribute to safeguarding the service's overall needs and resource utilization with tasks such as incidental work and other tasks that ensure prudent operation and services
- ensure a good working environment, good interaction and contribute to HSE work
- work in line with the municipality's vision and values: innovative, honest, respectful - NÆR
Work beyond normal working hours must be expected.
Qualifications
You are educated as a child welfare educator, social worker or have other relevant education.
In addition you have:
- long experience working in municipal child welfare service and/or the service's target group
- relevant recent further education preferably within Bufdir's competence strategy, and/or a master's degree in child welfare, alternatively motivation and drive to start relevant education will be considered
- have experience with the tasks assigned to the position
- experience working at the system level, and with quality and development projects/work
- good digital skills, including experience from relevant professional systems/ municipal systems
- we require good documentation skills, good oral presentation skills, and that you demonstrate a high degree of structure.
- class B driving licence

You must submit a police certificate before you can assume a position in Ringerike kommune in accordance with the Child Welfare Services Act § 12-11.
You must meet the criteria for tuberculosis control before you can be appointed.
