Do you want an active, exciting and meaningful job where you can contribute to a good service offering on weekends?

Heimdal bo- og aktivitetstilbud currently has 20 permanent weekend positions available, with desired immediate start. Work during the summer and on certain public holidays must be expected, as well as every third weekend. The position percentage will vary between approximately 15-30 percent. You will be an important resource to ensure that a good and responsible service is provided also on weekends.

Heimdal bo- og aktivitetstilbud provides services to people with intellectual disabilities, in addition to other challenges within, among other things, behaviour, substance abuse and psychiatry. Our residents are always at the centre, where equality and respect are our most important guidelines. We work in other people’s homes where no day is the same, and the user’s needs are complex and varied. A weekend position with us provides valuable work experience with people and can be a great entry to a further career in the municipality. If you are passionate about working with users with various challenges and you have drive, you are the right person for us! We are primarily looking for weekend staff with health and social backgrounds or students who are undergoing education.

In close collaboration with our social educators (vernepleier), nurses, milieu therapists, skilled workers (trade certificate) and assistants, you will have a varied everyday filled with big and small challenges and room for professional development. We are keen to maintain a living professional environment, and our common goal is to safeguard each service recipient’s identity, self-worth and quality of life in all phases of life.

Work tasks

Everyday mastery:
You will be an important supporter in the service recipients’ daily lives. This involves assisting with practical tasks in the home and facilitating so that the individual can master their everyday life as best as possible, regardless of challenges.

Safety and well-being:
Through good relationship building you actively contribute to creating a predictable, safe and good everyday life for our service recipients. Your presence, calm and care mean a lot to those who receive our services.

Documentation:
As part of a professional health team, you will also learn to document your work in Helseplattformen. This is important so that we can provide a responsible and holistic service to everyone.

Collaboration with relatives:
You will be in dialogue with the relatives. This involves being a good conversational partner and conveying how the day has been, so that they feel confident that their loved ones are being well cared for.

Qualifications

  • You want to work with people
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You must be available to work in a rota / shift schedule with fixed shifts
  • You can express yourself clearly and understandably in contact with service recipients, relatives, partners and colleagues.
  • Must be able to retell and report in writing in Norwegian
  • No remarks concerning drug, violence and sexual offences on police certificate
  • It is an advantage if you are undergoing, or have, health/social care education
  • It is an advantage if you have experience from the health field
  • It is an advantage to have a driving licence for car, class B
  • For some residences it is an advantage to have access to a car, due to location and lack of public transport

Since our working day can be both hectic and unpredictable, it is important that you manage to keep calm and make good choices when the situation requires it.
