Are you just as cheerful and positive whether the clock is 05.00 or 23.00? Are you mentally prepared to work outdoors at 7 on a Monday morning if you are called the night before - and it is pouring rain? Then you can read on; maybe this job suits you?
What we are looking for
Young, well-aged, older - girls and boys, women and men can fit in this job. The most important thing is that you are honest, have a good work ethic and dare to pitch in. You must have a positive attitude and a smile ready, even though stressful situations and challenging traffic conditions may occur. You do not always work with the same people. You meet different people whom you must communicate well with over radio communication, but also meet over a bite to eat during breaks. The team leaders are also not the same, but you must meet them all with respect and be the kind of colleague you yourself want to meet.
Tasks
We must set some requirements:
You must have class B driving licence and have access to your own car. (Manual gearbox is a big plus.)
You must speak and write understandable Norwegian. Norwegian language is a requirement, cf. Statens vegvesens handbook N301.
You must have work warning courses 1 and 3. We can help you with this.
You must have good digital competence. Most documentation is done digitally via apps.
You must be punctual at work. Traffic directing is team work. Traffic does not wait for us if we slack on punctuality. Therefore allow yourself extra time to arrive on time.
You must be solution-oriented and take responsibility if unforeseen events occur.
We know when the working day starts, but rarely when it ends. You must therefore be flexible and be prepared for some long days.
You must be able to work minimum three days (or nights) a week. There may also be a need for help on weekends.
FINALLY: A SMILE OR TWO ALWAYS HELPS, BOTH FOR COLLEAGUES AND ROAD USERS!
We offer
We offer:
All protective equipment (full clothing incl. shoes and helmet) and a stop paddle for the directing work.
Help to obtain courses 1 and 3: Work on and by road. Course 1 can be taken as a webinar, while course 3 is practical and is offered in Oslo. Both courses take two days in total. The course fee is paid by the employee and is valid for five years.
We are a small company that works with manual directing, lead vehicle driving and traffic attendants. The assignments cover a large geographic area, with the main concentration around Oslo and the Drammen area. Therefore it may be an advantage if you are resident in this area, as it means a shorter way to the workplace. But you are welcome to apply regardless!
