At the Unit for Emergency Medical Services, Medical Services and Infection Control (ELLS) there is, from 1 January 2027, a permanent 100 percent position available as a specialist physician in general medicine.
Øya Medical Center is a municipal medical center. We offer medical services for our listed patients, patients with D-number and patients who do not have a regular GP in Trondheim.
Today eight physicians work at the center. One physician is a senior consultant and medical advisor, three are specialists in general medicine (one of whom holds a PhD), three physicians are ALIS (one of whom holds a PhD) and one is LIS1. We have four experienced medical secretaries. The center has its own department head with administrative responsibility.
At the medical center we focus on facilitating a good professional and social working environment. We especially prioritize professional development with fixed times for internal teaching, facilitate necessary course participation and seminars, and organize regular professional days for all employees. We are particularly concerned with good structure and high professional quality in the implementation of supervision and guidance of physicians in specialization. For you who are employed, we facilitate personal development within safe frameworks.
Who are we looking for?
- To thrive and succeed in this role we want a colleague who has professional weight, but also the right personal qualities for our environment:

- You are a team player with a big heart and good humor: You build strong relationships, create security for patients and colleagues, and contribute positively to the social and professional working environment.
- You wish to collaborate broadly: You enjoy interacting with colleagues both internally at the medical center and in the unit in general.
- Personal suitability: For us who you are makes a big difference, and personal suitability will therefore be emphasized.
HPR number must be stated in the application. Any references are provided at interview. A police certificate must be presented before start date. Start is planned for 1 January 2027 or by agreement.
