Anchored in the collections of Edvard Munch and Rolf Stenersen, and with the present as horizon,
MUNCH moves people around the world. This is the starting point for the museum's programme declaration, and
the basis for the museum's work on the development and implementation of artistic programmes, including
the exhibition programme which comprises both collection presentations and temporary exhibitions each year.

The ambitions for the exhibition programme at MUNCH are that it should create engagement among our audience
by being innovative, diverse and challenging. Our exhibitions should maintain a high level of artistic
and curatorial quality, and make us prominent on the international art scene and MUNCH one of Northern-
Europe's most attractive art museums.

In the Exhibition department we are now seeking a skilled person who will lead our section for
exhibition project management. Through professional integrity in project management, the ability to collaborate across disciplines
and network building, as well as deep experience with exhibition production, you will help to develop
how we create exhibitions at MUNCH.


Responsibilities

  • Personnel responsibility and management of the section
  • Management of capacity and resource allocation
  • Responsible for follow-up, reporting and auditing of the exhibition portfolio's budget and accounts,
    ongoing to the department director and in regular budget meetings with the museum's management
  • Contribute to the section's strategic work, method development and competence enhancement
  • Ensure the professional development of the section and in collaboration with other disciplines at the museum
  • Contribute to the further development of processes and tools, including budgeting and time-management, and
    risk management tools
  • Participation in relevant decision-making fora at the museum, including as a member of the extended management groups at
    the museum
  • Quality assure case submissions to the management team
  • Ensure routines for and actual documentation, reporting and archiving of exhibition projects
  • Project manager for exhibition projects

Qualifications

Required :

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in the cultural sector, including experience with exhibition production
  • Experience from an art institution
  • Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and network building
  • Bachelor's degree in project management and/or art and cultural subjects (relevant experience can compensate for
    lack of education)

Desired :

  • Master's degree in project management and/or art and cultural subjects
  • Experience with international collaboration within projects in the art and cultural field

  • The position is paid in salary grades 50-63 in Oslo municipality's salary scale (currently NOK 844 000- 1 091 300,-), according to
    qualifications and seniority. In special cases higher salary may be considered.
