What does the job involve?

  • Professional responsibility for immunohistochemical analyses and methods, and stay professionally updated within the subject area.
  • Contribute to the development, verification and implementation of new antibodies in collaboration with the responsible physician and the function leader for pathology.
  • Be responsible for testing, validation and verification of new methods and instruments in collaboration with the responsible physician and the function leader for pathology.
  • Participate in decision-making processes related to procurement and implementation of methods and medical-technical equipment.
  • Be responsible for preparing necessary training plans, as well as conducting training and teaching within the subject area.
  • Participate in the laboratory's quality system, including procedures and documentation within the subject area.
  • Contribute to improvement work, deviation handling and internal control.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other professional groups to ensure high quality in patient diagnostics.
  • Participate in the rotation of work programs within several subject areas.

What competence is important in this role?

You must have:

  • Norwegian authorization as a bioengineer or relevant higher education in laboratory or bioscience subjects at bachelor or master level
  • a good understanding of the digital tools used in laboratory work
  • good Norwegian language skills, both oral and written.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience from pathology and immunohistochemistry/ automated platforms
  • experience with quality assurance and quality systems in a medical laboratory
  • experience with being responsible for a subject
