Mental health Bergen West is a unit that consists of the follow-up service, activity center and adapted
housing services in Laksevåg and Fyllingsdalen.

The unit emphasizes and focuses on professional assessments based on individual health-related challenges linked to each resident's need for necessary health care.

The unit also works purposefully to maintain a good working environment with a high level of attendance, a dynamic service where user quality and competence development are high priorities. 

Ortun shared residence is a 24-hour staffed housing service that provides decision-based services to people with mental health challenges. The services are provided from a recovery perspective to maintain and further develop the ADL functions of the individual. Residents shall receive help to use their own resources to contribute to change, symptom management, growth and development.

We are looking for a Nurse or social educator (vernepleier) in a 60% position on a rota / shift schedule with work every fourth weekend. The position is a temporary substitute position for 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

Have professional responsibility and ensure services in accordance with the resident's needs and decisions.

Help each individual so that, based on their own conditions, they achieve the greatest possible degree of independence.

Perform primary contact tasks

Responsible for medication management 

Have contact with relatives

Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration with internal and external actors 

Guide colleagues, partners and students and apprentices

Contribute to developing a good working environment and participate in continuous improvement of independence.

Report both orally and in writing

Qualifications

Authorized nurse or social educator (vernepleier)

Desirable: further education in mental health or mental health and substance misuse at college level.

Requirement of relevant experience from work with people with mental disorders and substance misuse challenges.

Proficiency in Norwegian, written and spoken

Personal qualities

Personal suitability is particularly emphasized and commitment to the user group is a prerequisite
