Do you want to help make a difference for young patients? As coordinator for the Youth Council you get a unique opportunity to connect young people’s experiences with the development of tomorrow’s health services. The Youth Council has been groundbreaking and has contributed to the development of youth medicine at the trust for several years.
It is the young people themselves who drive the work, and the coordinator role supports the important work that is done every single day.
Do you have experience working with participation and want to use your voice to influence health services for young people? Then the coordinator role in the Youth Council at Akershus university hospital could be for you!
The Youth Council is the hospital's voice for young people between 12 and 25 years. Through the council, young people get the opportunity to influence decisions, give advice and contribute to the hospital developing services that are adapted to young people's needs. We believe that those who use the health services hold valuable knowledge. Young people's experiences can help improve services for many young people, both now and in the future.
Responsibilities
- Influence how health services for young people are developed at Ahus
- Be a unifying link for the representatives in the Youth Council
- Facilitate meetings in the Youth Council
- Assist and guide the leader and deputy leader in their roles
- Contribute to coordinating the Youth Council's various assignments
- Support and guide the Youth Council's members in preparations for and after their assignments
- Write minutes, case documentation and consultation responses
- Get to know and follow up engaged young people who want to contribute to better health services
Qualifications
- Healthcare education at bachelor's or master's level
- Experience with youth health is desirable
- Experience working with participation will be given weight
- Experience with case documentation and other administrative work
- Experience from specialist healthcare services will be given weight
- Familiarity with Ahus's catchment area
