Who are you, and what can you contribute?
We are looking for someone who wants to strengthen our women's health section with your competence, commitment and motivation for good patient care. With us you will have a varied and exciting workday with work in outpatient clinic, operative practice, obstetrics and on-call duties.
We are advertising a consultant position, but welcome applications from LIS 2-3 with completed obstetrics training.
We now have a permanent 100% position available as consultant. LIS 3 who will soon complete specialist training will be offered a temporary substitute position, with the possibility of a permanent position when consultant training in gynecology is completed.
The position suits those who thrive in a broad clinical professional environment, have good cooperation skills and wish to contribute to further development of the women's health services at a modern local hospital.
For candidates with a special interest in professional development and medical quality, it may be relevant to combine the position with the role as medical responsible consultant within obstetrics and gynecology. This will be presented and discussed further in connection with the interview.
About the section
The Women's Health Section is part of the Surgical Department at Kongsberg hospital. The section is responsible for comprehensive services in obstetrics and gynecology, and provides follow-up for pregnant women, women in labour, postpartum women and gynecological patients.
We offer a wide range of diagnostics, treatment and follow-up within women's health, and have high activity within both outpatient services, maternity care and surgical treatment. The section has a midwife-run ultrasound outpatient clinic in close collaboration with the gynecologists, and is characterised by strong interdisciplinary cooperation between midwives, paediatric nurses, physicians and other professional groups. With around 420 births annually and a broad gynecological practice, the position is particularly attractive for physicians who wish to develop broad gynecological competence
Kongsberg hospital is located a little over an hour from Oslo and is one of 8 clinics in Vestre Viken Health Trust and one of the four somatic hospitals in the trust. Kongsberg hospital is a local hospital for Flesberg, Rollag, Nore og Uvdal, Kongsberg and Øvre Eiker municipality. Kongsberg hospital has been a pioneering hospital within day surgery and was the first hospital in the country with this service. The day surgery activity at Kongsberg hospital is therefore significant.
