We are looking for someone who wants to work in the Section for Women's Health, where continuity is facilitated through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. This is a perfect job for you who wish to follow the mother and the new family from birth until they are discharged from the maternity ward. As our new colleague you will be part of a good professional environment with varied tasks. We emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration and have regular trainings in emergency situations.

The Section for Women's Health has approximately 450 births per year, and accepts births from week 35. We offer, among other things, water births, family rooms and a maternity outpatient clinic. We are approved as a Mother-Baby friendly hospital according to WHO's criteria. There is close and good collaboration with various professional groups, and new employees and students describe the department environment as safe and inclusive.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and facilitate for the midwife during birth
  • Participate in emergency situations during birth and the postpartum period
  • Care and guidance to new parents
  • Care, observation and follow-up of the newborn
  • Pre- and post-operative care of gynecological patients
  • Contribute to quality and patient safety work

Qualifications

  • Has valid Norwegian authorization as childcare nurse/special nursing assistant
  • You must be able to make yourself understood in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language. Both oral and written skills are necessary

In addition, we believe it is an advantage if you have:

  • Further education in maternity and child care
  • Have relevant experience in birth or postpartum care
  • Have familiarity with DIPS/Partus
