Hi potential applicant!

I am a sociable man in the beginning of my 30s who is looking for a new BPA assistant to become part of my everyday life. I am employed, but in my free time I like to fill the days with a variety of activities. Some days are spent cooking, shopping and doing practical projects at home, while others may include a concert, an activity or a trip. Occasionally it may also be relevant to pack a suitcase and travel.

I have a mild need for assistance and primarily need practical help and support with certain things in daily life. As an assistant you contribute to me being able to continue living an active and independent life and spending my time on what I want.

I have many interests and especially enjoy cooking, carpentry and working on various projects where you can create, fix or repair something. Music is also a big part of my life – especially hard rock – and I like to attend concerts and events. I also follow handball, enjoy getting outdoors for hikes and find it exciting to experience new places, countries and cultures.

I also appreciate the quieter days, good conversations and humor in everyday life. Therefore the job suits you who enjoy variety and who think both completely ordinary weekdays and slightly bigger experiences can be good parts of a working day.

About the position

Here there is the possibility for smaller and larger positions, everything from 0-100%. I am looking for both on-call and permanent positions. Are you considering a part-time job that is a bit different from most? Maybe you want a job alongside studies or another job, or simply a working day with more variation than you get in a typical part-time position. As my BPA assistant you will become part of my everyday life and contribute with practical assistance where I need it. You do not need to have experience from BPA or healthcare beforehand. The most important thing is that you are reliable, flexible and that we work well together.

Work tasks

  • Help with cooking
  • Simple household tasks
  • Assistance with leisure activities
  • Participation at concerts and events
  • Assistance on trips and tours at home and abroad
  • Assistance at my workplace
  • Driving when needed

The workplace will be at my home, at my workplace and otherwise where the activities take place.

Working hours:

The working hours may vary, but my shifts usually look like this:

  • 2 days a week from 09.00–17.30 (possibly until 20.00)
  • Two Saturdays a month from 17.00–24.00 for a period
  • Afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed
  • It is an advantage if you are able to join on trips when relevant.

I am looking for someone who is:

  • Positive and sociable
  • Flexible and solution-oriented
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Independent and proactive
  • Sees what needs to be done
  • Enjoys both calm and active days
  • Likes to participate in activities and trips
  • Good at reading situations and adapting

Good chemistry and personal suitability are given high weight

Qualifications

  • class B driving licence (I have a car)
  • Good oral and written Norwegian
  • police certificate must be presented at employment

We offer

  • A varied and social working day
  • Opportunity to join concerts, activities and trips
  • An employment relationship where personal suitability and good cooperation are emphasized
  • Salary according to the BPA National Agreement for country and scope.

Why work as a BPA?

Being a BPA assistant is a different job than many other care professions. You work closely with one person and become an important contributor to that person being able to live an independent and active life on their own terms. It is an unskilled position, so there are no requirements for education/trade certificate (fagbrev), and compensation is provided accordingly. The position offers a varied working day where no days are necessarily exactly the same. You get to be involved in everything from daily chores at home to leisure activities, concerts, trips and travel. At the same time you gain valuable experience in communication, cooperation and relationship building.
