Nav arbeid og ytelser sykepenger is seeking caseworkers – a job that combines professional challenges with an important societal mission.
At Nav arbeid og ytelser sykepenger we work with some of the most meaningful things there are. We ensure that people receive the correct benefits at the right time. This is not only about regulations and systems – it is about financial security when health fails, about predictability in a vulnerable situation and about the opportunity to use one's energy to recover. Our work contributes to stability in people's lives when they need it most. To meet an increasing caseload and at the same time ensure smooth operations through natural variations in staffing, we now need more skilled colleagues on the team.
We are around 550 caseworkers distributed across nine locations nationwide: Lillestrøm, Sarpsborg, Tønsberg, Karmøy, Sauda, Kristiansund, Trondheim, Fauske and Vardø.
We are now seeking up to 4 new employees for our office in Sauda – a charming fjord town surrounded by majestic nature, with strong industrial roots and an active local community. Here we are located in modern and bright premises in the centre, where all caseworkers sit in an open-plan area and are part of an inclusive and professionally strong work environment.
Do you want to use your competence to create security for people and contribute to an important societal mission? Then we hope you apply. Maybe it is precisely you who will become our next important colleague.
Responsibilities
As a caseworker you will have a central role in the implementation of Nav's societal mission.
You process applications and appeals within the sickness benefit area, assess documentation and apply the regulations to ensure correct and well-founded decisions. The working day is varied and characterised by pace, professional assessments and digital work processes. You must be able to handle complex issues and at the same time ensure effective progress in case processing.
Although contact with users mainly takes place digitally and by phone, communication is an important part of the job. You contribute to users experiencing predictability, respect and good guidance in their encounters with Nav.
Qualifications
- Completed and approved education at bachelor's level, preferably within legal, economic or social science subjects
- Significant relevant work experience can in special cases compensate for the education requirement
- Good written and oral communication skills in Norwegian
- Good digital skills and ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new systems
It is an advantage if you also have:
- Experience from public administration
- Experience with written casework and application of regulations
Diplomas and references must be uploaded together with the application in WebCruiter. Foreign degrees must be approved by NOKUT or HK-dir (the Directorate for Higher Education and Competence).
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone who makes good decisions, works efficiently and delivers high quality. You communicate clearly and professionally, and contribute to good experiences for our users.
To succeed in the role you are results-oriented, willing to learn and focused on continuous improvement. You thrive in a high-paced environment and collaborate well with others, while working independently and structured.
The working day is constantly evolving, and therefore it is important that you are flexible and adaptable. You also contribute positively to the working environment and the community, and see the value of making your colleagues better.
Personal suitability will be given significant weight.
We offer
With us you will become part of an inclusive and competent work environment where collaboration, learning and development are central. We facilitate your success in the role through training and support from skilled colleagues.
We offer flexitime, possibility to work from home when the tasks allow it, exercise during working hours and good pension and insurance schemes through Statens pensjonskasse.
We believe in openness both ways. Therefore we offer a reverse reference check: If you are being considered for the position, you can talk to one of our employees and ask exactly the questions you want about what it is actually like to work here. We think this is an honest and good way to find out if we are a fit for each other.
The position is advertised as førstekonsulent (code 1408) with a salary range kr 601 000–640 000.
