Able Seaman in the service Stårheim - Isane

Fjord1 now has a vacant position as able seaman in the service Stårheim-Isane, currently on MF Selje.

Shift arrangement: 24-hour shift - 2 weeks on, and 1 week off/2 weeks on, and 3 weeks off provides a good balance between work and leisure.

Work tasks

• Ticketing, bridge watch and miscellaneous work on board
• Alternation duty between deck and engine
• Work tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor
• Tasks related to alarm instructions
• Safety and environmental work
• Customer handling
  

Qualifications

• Proficiency certificate as able seaman or necessary sea service to be able to serve as an able seaman
  
• Safety course in accordance with the qualification regulations
  
• Crisis and passenger handling
  
• Valid medical certificate
• Scandinavian language skills written and oral

Fjord1 covers the crisis and passenger handling course for relevant candidates.

Personal characteristics

We are looking for a reliable able seaman with good teamwork skills, and a high focus on safety. You must be responsible, flexible and able to handle varied work tasks both independently, and as part of a team. If these characteristics describe you, we will gladly receive your application.
