Social educator (vernepleier)/Nurse

Breisteinvegen is a large and beautiful shared residence north in Åsane with a nice location at Breistein. It is well adapted for both those who live here and those of us who work here.

We are now seeking a social educator (vernepleier)/nurse for a 100% permanent position, the position is part of the rota / shift schedule with work every 4th weekend. As a social educator (vernepleier)/nurse at Breisteinvegen there are varied and exciting tasks particularly related to medication handling, procedures, HOL chapter 9.

At Breisteinvegen people of varying ages with differing degrees of disability live. Breisteinvegen is merged operationally with Breistein 1 which is located nearby. These two shared residences will cooperate closely. At Breistein 1 there are 4 young women with intellectual disabilities. The workday offers a good opportunity for variety in tasks. There will rarely be a boring day in the shared residences at Breistein.

The staff group consists of skilled social educators (vernepleier), a social worker, healthcare workers, child and youth worker, preschool teacher and assistants who all focus on providing good services to the residents.

The working environment is characterised by good cohesion, generosity and great commitment to the user group. The residence has new and very good staff facilities and good parking opportunities. It is about 15 minutes by bus from Åsane terminal.

Residential services in Åsane consist of 13 service locations. We have good cooperation across the shared residences and this provides good opportunities for personal and professional development.

Qualifications

• Valid authorization as social educator (vernepleier) or nurse. 
• Desirable to have class B driving licence.
• Familiarity with the user group.
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Applicants from outside Scandinavia must document Norwegian language skills in writing and speaking by passing the B2 test.
• A valid police certificate is required upon employment
