The reasons may be unpaid claims such as: - additional tax payment or interest from the previous year - tax in another municipality - unpaid maintenance (alimony) debt, VAT, inheritance tax or property tax - other arrears to the state or municipality, such as fines or municipal taxes The Tax Collector may apply the tax refund towards the above debt, and a reduced amount will be deposited into your account. You will receive information about the reduction in a separate letter.
